Timing Gear – Timing gears, as the name implies, are used for various timing purposes. Also known as synchronous gears, they could be either spur or helical gears. They are generally used in automotive applications to control valve timing in engines.

Pinion Equipment – A pinion may be the smaller of two meshed gears within an assembly. Pinions gears can be either spur or helical type gears, and be either the traveling or driven gear, based on the application form. Pinion gears are found in many types of gearing systems such as ring and pinion or rack and pinion systems.
