The working principle of the slider coupling

The slider coupling is mainly used for the connection between two parallel shafts. It consists of a half coupling with grooves on both ends and a disc with tenon on both sides. The center lines of the grooves respectively pass through the centers of the two shafts, and the center lines of the two tenons are perpendicular to each other and pass through the center of the disc.
The two tenons of the disc are respectively embedded in the grooves of the two coupling halves fixed on the driving shaft and the driven shaft to form a dynamic connection. When the shaft rotates, the two tenons of the disc can slide back and forth in the groove of the half coupling. At this time, the trajectory of the center of the disc will be a circle with a diameter equal to the eccentricity of the two axes. When the driving shaft rotates 90°, the driven shaft also rotates 90°, and the center of the disk rotates 180°, so the rotation speed of the center of the disk is exactly twice the rotation speed of the shaft.
