Among the fixed couplings, the flange coupling is the most widely used one. It is composed of two flanged half couplings. The flange coupling has a simple structure and is easy to maintain. It can transmit large torque but cannot compensate for the relative displacement of the two shafts. It has high requirements for the neutrality of the two shafts and has no buffer and vibration absorption functions.It is widely used in the connection of stable load, good two-axis alignment, short and good rigidity.
In the fixed coupling, the sleeve coupling is connected by a key or pin through a common sleeve. The sleeve coupling has a simple structure and small radial dimension. When assembling and disassembling, the main shaft needs to be moved axially without buffering. And the function of vibration absorption.Sleeve couplings are often used where the load is stable, the diameter of the two shafts is small, and the accuracy of the two shafts is high.
The clamping shell coupling is composed of two semi-circular cast iron clamping shells and locked by bolts. The torque is transmitted mainly by friction. For reliable transmission, a flat key can be added.Its characteristics: convenient disassembly and assembly, simple structure, low transmission torque, generally used for shafts with d>200mm.
