Nodular cast iron: The fluidity is similar to that of gray cast iron, the body shrinkage is larger than gray cast iron, and the linear shrinkage is small, which is easy to form shrinkage holes and porosity.The comprehensive mechanical properties are higher, the modulus of elasticity is higher than that of gray cast iron; the abrasion resistance is good; the impact toughness and fatigue strength are better.The damping force is lower than that of gray cast iron.
Malleable cast iron: its fluidity is worse than gray cast iron, and its body shrinks greatly. After annealing, the final linear shrinkage is very small.Before annealing, it is very brittle and the blank is easily damaged.The comprehensive mechanical properties are slightly inferior to ductile iron, and the impact toughness is 3-4 times larger than that of gray cast iron.
