There are many types, types, and specifications of couplings. Among the many standard couplings, the correct choice of the best coupling that suits your needs is related to the working performance, reliability, and service life of the shaft transmission of mechanical products. A series of problems such as vibration, noise, energy saving, transmission efficiency, transmission accuracy, economy, etc. are also related to the quality of mechanical products.
When choosing a coupling, you should consider:
(1) The size and nature of the required transfer torque, the requirements for buffering and damping functions, and whether resonance may occur.
(2) The degree of relative displacement of the axis of the two shafts caused by manufacturing and assembly errors, shaft load and thermal expansion deformation, and relative movement between components.
(3) The allowable dimensions and installation methods are the operating space necessary for ease of assembly, adjustment and maintenance. For large couplings, assembly and disassembly should be possible without the need for axial movement of the shaft.
(4) The load category, due to different structures and materials, the couplings used in the transmission systems of various mechanical products have very different load capacities. The load category is mainly for the impact, vibration, forward and reverse rotation, braking, frequent start and other reasons of the working load of the working machine to form different types of loads.
(5) The allowable speed range of the coupling is determined by calculation according to the allowable linear speed of different materials of the coupling and the outermost dimension. The allowable speed range of couplings of different materials and specifications is different. Changing the material of the coupling can increase the allowable speed range of the coupling. The allowable speed for steel is greater than the allowable speed for cast iron.
The initially selected coupling size, that is, the shaft hole diameter d and the shaft hole length L, should meet the requirements of the main and driven end shaft diameters; otherwise, the coupling specifications must be adjusted according to the shaft diameter d.It is a common phenomenon that the shaft diameters of the main and driven shafts are different. When the torque and speed are the same, and the shaft diameters of the main and driven ends are different, the coupling model should be selected according to the larger shaft diameter.
In addition, the working environment, service life, lubrication and sealing and economic conditions should also be considered, and then referring to the characteristics of various couplings, select a suitable coupling type.
